YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN USE YOUR ABILITY. IT IS AN AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY
YOU
ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN USE YOUR ABILITY. IT IS AN AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY
Around the turn of the century near the town of Beaumont, Texas, a
landowner was forced to sell portioned of his land to feed his family. Then an
oil company told him there could be oil on his property and offered to pay him
royalties if he would permit them to drill. The landowner agreed, because he
had nothing to lose.
When the well came in, it destroyed the wooden derrick, creating an
enormous excitement. Before
they could cap the well, several hundred thousands
of oil had pumped out. That was the discovery of “Spindletop,” the most
productive single oil well in history.
The landowner became an instant multimillionaire, or did he? The answer
is really “no.” You see, he’d been a millionaire ever since he had own his
property. Unfortunately, he had no knowledge of that fact and consequently did
not capitalize on it.
It is my personal conviction that inside all of us, there is incredible
ability and talent, much of which is never recognized and used. My suggestion
is simple: Get acquainted with yourself. Recognize, develop, and use what
you’ve got. Who knows maybe there is a ”Spindletop” underneath. You’ve
certainly got nothing to lose by doing a little drilling and exploring. Who
knows what might come to the surface, you’ve got nothing to lose.
A PRAYER IN TIME OF SICKNESS
A PRAYER IN TIME OF SICKNESS
King Hezekiah felt seriously ill
unto the point of death and he prayed to GOD.
The LORD answered the Shunammite woman, the
centurion’s daughter, and many more were all healed or raised from the death
through the power of GOD in CHRIST JESUS. Do you have any illness in your body
that you have spent so much and is not going away, do you have any infirmities
that is causing discomfort to your body, summon up courage with faith
in GOD through CHRIST JESUS and render this prayer. Always remember
that GOD has sent forth HIS WORD to heal all our diseases. Just believe that
you are healed after rendering this prayer and never doubt and it shall be so.
him and added some more years to his days. Do you
remember the stories of the woman with the issue of blood, the lame man by the
pool of Bethsaida, blind Barthemaeus,
A PRAYER IN TIME OF SICKNESS
And you rescue those people in times of trouble. You
protect them and keep them alive. You make them happy
here in this land, and you don’t hand them over to their
enemies.
You always heal them and restore their strength when they
are sick. I prayed, “Have pity, LORD! Heal me, though I have
sinned against you.”
My vicious enemies ask me, “When will you die and be forgotten?”
When visitors come, all they ever bring are worthless words, and
When they leave, they spread gossip.
My enemies whisper about me. They think the worst, and they say
“You have some fatal disease! You’ll never get well.”
My most trusted friend has turned against me, though he ate at my
table. Have pity LORD! Heal me, so I can pay them back. Then my
enemies won’t defeat me and I will know that you really care. You
have helped me because I am innocent, and you will always be close
to my side.
You the LORD GOD of Israel will be praised forever!
Amen and amen

TO TELL THE TRUTH DEFINES US AS BELIEVERS
TO TELL THE TRUTH DEFINES US
AS BELIEVERS
“Who did this?” asked my teacher.
Thirty children tried to think about not only what they had done,
but also what
our teacher might have found out.
“Who did this?” asked my teacher
once more. She wasn’t really asking, she was demanding an answer. She seldom
became angry, but she was this time. She held up a piece of broken glass and
asked, “Who broke this window?”
“Oh, oh,” I thought. I was the
one who broke the window. I had not done it intentionally. It was caused by an
errant throw of a baseball. I was working on my knuckleball. It needed more
work. How would I be able to pay for a big window like that? I didn’t even get
an allowance. My father is going to have a fit,” I thought. I didn’t want to
raise my hand, but some force much stronger than I was pulling it skyward. I
told the truth.
“I did it.” I said no more. It
was hard enough saying what I had.
My teacher went to one of our
library shelves and took down a book. She then began walking towards my desk. I
had never seen my teacher strike a student, but I fear she was going to start
with me and she was going to use a book for the swatting.
“I know how you like birds,” she
said as she stood looking down at my guilt-ridden face. “Here is that field
guide about birds that you’re constantly checking out. It is yours. It’s time
we get a new one for the school anyway. The book is yours and you will not be
punished as long as you remember that I am not rewarding you for your misdeed,
I am rewarding you for your truthfulness. Because to tell the truth defines
us as believers either young or old, you must always tell the truth.”
As believers, truthfulness in all
that we do is what set us apart from the rest of the world. It defines our
faith. It makes us stay on the right path and never going astray. It makes the
Holy Spirit reside within us. It makes GOD happy with us and like the teacher
rewarding her student; our Heavenly Father will surely reward us. Just
remember that to tell the truth defines us as believers.
